What are Community Groups?

At HRAC, we aim to practice the Way of Jesus in community for the sake of others. Our community ministries help us become a community of love and depth in a culture of individualism and superficiality.

Community Groups are where that happens week to week: a small circle of people who open the Scriptures together, talk through the sermon, pray for one another, and look for ways to serve.

What groups are built on

Spiritual formation

Formed together by the Spirit.

We are formed by the Holy Spirit as we wrestle out the implications of the sermon, Scripture, and the circumstances of life together.

Known, prayed for, and carried.

We live the “one anothers” of Scripture with the people we are in community with: encouraging, bearing burdens, forgiving, and praying for one another.

Mission

Formed for the sake of others.

Our formation is for the sake of others, so groups look for ways to serve others regularly, together.

Who is welcome?

Everyone, whether you have followed Jesus for decades, are new to HRAC, or are still asking questions.

What happens at a group?

Groups talk through the week's sermon questions and Scripture, share what's going on in life, pray for one another, and plan ways to serve together.

Do I need to know the Bible well?

Not at all. Groups are a place to learn together, and honest questions are part of how we grow.

How do I join?
