Who we are

Jesus didn't invite people to a set of ideas. He said, "Follow me." Two thousand years later, that's still the invitation. We want to be a church of apprentices: people who arrange our lives around being with Jesus, becoming like him, and joining him in what he's doing in the world.

We don't do that alone, and we don't do it only for ourselves. We practice the Way in community, and we practice it for the sake of our neighbors in Hood River and around the world.

What we believe

Hood River Alliance Church is part of the Christian and Missionary Alliance, a global family of churches committed to knowing Jesus and making him known.

At the center of Alliance belief is the conviction that Jesus is everything we need. We often summarize it in four words, sometimes called the Fourfold Gospel.

Jesus our Savior
Through his death and resurrection, Jesus forgives our sin and gives us new life with God, as a gift of grace received by faith.
Ephesians 2:8–9
Jesus our Sanctifier
By the Holy Spirit, Jesus makes us more like himself. This is the lifelong work of apprenticeship.
1 Thessalonians 5:23–24
Jesus our Healer
Jesus still cares for our bodies, minds, and hearts, and we bring our needs to him in prayer.
James 5:14–15
Jesus our Coming King
Jesus will return to make all things new. Until then, we join his mission to every nation.
Matthew 24:14
