Practicing Generosity
In a culture of consumerism, Jesus invites us into a life of contentment. Giving is one of the ways we practice his Way: a regular act of worship that loosens our grip on what we have and opens our hands to God and to others.
Why we give
At Hood River Alliance Church, we see tithing as part of how we choose to be fully engaged in the life and mission of Jesus. Cheerful, sacrificial giving is one way we respond to God in worship, as King over every area of our lives, our finances included.
Giving is also a practice that forms us. As we give to our local church family, God shapes us to be more like him: generous, and invested in the redemption of our city and our world. He uses our gifts to help people follow Jesus and to meet real needs. Every gift is an act of worship, and we steward each one that way.
