Community

Jesus never called anyone to follow him alone. He gathered people around tables, walked the road with them, and formed them together. We practice his Way the same way: side by side, around kitchen tables, in classrooms, and over early-morning coffee, at every age and every stage.

No one is formed alone

At Hood River Alliance, we describe our life together as practicing the Way of Jesus, in community, for the sake of others. Community is the middle of that sentence for a reason. It is where the practices of Jesus stop being ideas and start shaping real lives.

In a culture of individualism and surface-level connection, we want to be a community of love and depth. That happens when people are known: when we open Scripture together, pray for one another, carry each other through hard seasons, and celebrate the good ones. And as we are formed together, we are sent together, for the sake of others.

  1. Practicing the Way of Jesus,Being formed into his likeness
  2. in community,Together, never alone
  3. for the sake of others. On earth as it is in heaven
They devoted themselves to the apostles' teaching and to fellowship, to the breaking of bread and to prayer.Acts 2:42

Community Groups

In homes throughout the week

Community groups are the heart of life together at HRAC. We are formed by the Spirit as we work through Sunday's sermon, Scripture, and real life together. We live out the "one anothers" of Scripture by caring for each other. And because our formation is for the sake of others, we serve together, too.

Children

Sundays during the 10:00 service

We partner with parents to help kids know, love, and serve Jesus. Nursery (birth to 2½), Preschool (2½ to 5), and Elementary (kindergarten through 5th grade) each meet every Sunday with Bible-based lessons, worship, and caring, background-checked leaders.

Youth

Middle school Mondays, high school Tuesdays

HR Alliance Youth is a community of students striving together for the faith of the gospel. Our mission is simple: engage students in the life and mission of Jesus. Doors open at 6:00 and we gather from 6:30 to 8:00 pm at the HRAC Youth Center.

Men

Weekly and monthly gatherings

The busyness of life makes it easy for men to drift into isolation. We fight that together. Man Coffee meets Tuesday mornings in the Church Café for short, practical studies on following Jesus in a modern world. Theology on Tap gathers monthly over food and good conversation, and anyone with questions is welcome.

Women

Monday Bible study, prayer, and gatherings

Women at HRAC grow together through Bible study, pray together for their kids and schools through Moms in Prayer on Friday mornings, and gather throughout the year to build friendships that last. Wherever you are in life, there is room for you here.

J.O.Y.

Fourth Thursdays at 11:30 am, Fellowship Hall

Just Older Youth is our monthly lunch for those in the season of life some might call "senior." We think JOY describes it better. You don't have to bring a thing, just yourself. We share a meal, make new friends, catch up with old ones, and simply enjoy each other.
