For the Sake
of Others

Jesus taught us to pray, "Your kingdom come, your will be done, on earth as it is in heaven." Everything we practice as followers of Jesus moves us toward that prayer: across the street, throughout the Gorge, and to the ends of the earth.

Formed to be sent

At Hood River Alliance, we describe our life together as practicing the Way of Jesus, in community, for the sake of others. Those three belong together. We practice the Way of Jesus so we are formed into people who look like him. We do it in community, because no one is formed alone.

And all of it is for the sake of others. Spiritual formation is never only about us. The goal of becoming more like Jesus is to love the way he loves: feeding the hungry, walking with people toward healing, and carrying the good news to our neighbors and the nations. When we live this way, we get to see heaven break into earth, one act of love at a time.

Missions

Across the Gorge and around the world

Missions is rooted deep in the Christian and Missionary Alliance story. We give, go, and pray alongside local partners and international workers who are sharing the love of Jesus in word and deed.

Facility Use

Sharing our building

Our buildings are a gift from God, entrusted to us to steward well. Part of faithful stewardship is sharing what we have been given, so we are glad to open our doors to families, community groups, and organizations in Hood River as a way of blessing our neighbors.

Practicing Generosity

Every meal served, every man welcomed home, and every worker sent is made possible by the generosity of our church family. Giving is one of the ways we practice the Way of Jesus: a regular act of worship that loosens our grip on what we have and opens our hands to God and to others.
